Conference Paper Description

Nanocosmetics is a cosmetic formulation that uses nanocarriers or nanoparticles to transport active cosmetic ingredients. Nanomaterials are increasingly being used in the pharmaceutical industry for cosmetic formulation. Nanocarriers have emerged as a potential drug delivery system, with benefits including increased solubility, improved stability, increased efficacy, controlled release, decreased toxicity, increased drug loading, and improved permeation into the dermal layer. Several nanocarriers have been applied in the form of sunscreens, moisturizer creams, anti-aging, and hair products. By searching published articles in Scopus and PubMed databases, the terms "nanocarrier"and "cosmetic"were used to gain data on the databases. This review describes issues related to the nanocarrier-based cosmetic type of nanocarriers used for the cosmetical purpose.
