Article Description

Despite being identified as a crucial proactive behavior that contributes to organizational goal attainment particularly in uncertain environment, collaborative job crafting (CJC) has received only scant attention and there exists much ambiguous role of information technology in it. Grounded on the theories of mindful of job crafting and proactive behavior, we propose a conceptual model specific to the context of self-leading team, positing that CJC behavior can be predicted by three proactive motivational states, namely role-breadth self-efficacy, flexible role orientation and psychological engagement, that in turn will be influenced by technology characteristics and social work design characteristics. Overall, this study offers novel insights into the determinants of CJC. For practice, it serves to inform that organizations would make the landscape for CJC by offering specific IT characteristics and social work design characteristics.
