Thesis / Dissertation Description

This study presents light, temperature, and infrared sensing implemented in a parallel manner using a Xilinx FPGA and various sensors. The FPGA serves to integrate modules operated in parallel, which is programmed using VHDL codes. For each module, the FPGA determines the proper course of action to take in order to control the sensor. Sensor circuits such as temperature, light and infrared sensors are interfaced with the FPGA. These sensors are connected in a scaled-down house model and are tasked to detect whether the dimmer, fan, intruder alarm, and fire alarm should be activated.
