The University of North Dakota Department of Theatre Arts' production of My Generation is invited to the Region V Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) in Lincoln, Neb.The Festival runs Jan. 20-25, 2013.My Generation was performed in April at the Burtness Theatre. The Department of Theatre will re-present the production Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Chester Fritz Auditorium as a fund-raiser and pre-festival performance for the cast and crew. Tickets will be on sale through the Chester Fritz Box Office at 701.777.4090. Adult tickets are $20 and student tickets are $10.KCACTF is a national theatre education program that aims to identify and promote quality in college-level theatre production. The invitation to perform at the Region V festival recognized, rewards and celebrates the exemplary work of the Department of Theatre Arts at UND.The public is encouraged to show its support for the Department of Theatre Arts at the January performance.Acting scholarshipsIn addition to the performance of My Generation, eight students have been nominated from all UND productions this year to compete for Irene Ryan Acting Scholarships. The nominee and his or her partner will perform an audition package for judges in the initial round that includes as many as 265 acting pairs. Sixteen pairs advance to the semi-final round and eight move on to the final round.
