Lecture / Presentation Description

Global positioning system (GPS) is widely used for navigation and real-time location services in civilian and military applications. GPS signals transmitted from a satellite are at a low power level once they reach the earth's surface due to high transmission loss. The low power level of the signal leaves it vulnerable to jamming. The anti-jamming qualities of controlled reception pattern arrays (CRPAs) are highly sought after due to their ability to prevent interruptions to the received GPS signal. A size reduced antenna with high gain can be utilized in many applications in which space may be a problem but high power is needed.
