Image Description

The Woods-Crook-Tredaway House was an antebellum construction with Greek fluted columns. Captain Alexander Woods contracted Elbert Green Morris to build his home in 1836. In 1866, Samuel W. Crook bought the house from Woods. In 1919, Felix S. and Louise Douthit Tredaway bought the house from Mrs. Jane P. Crook. The house passed to their son Floyd P. Tredaway (Director of Auxiliary Services and Assistant Professor of Accountancy at Jacksonville State University). Shown (circa 1987) is a front and side exterior view of the historic home located at 517 North Pelham Road, Jacksonville. The home is on the NPS National Register of Historic Places.
