Thesis / Dissertation Description
The original project was concerned with the production of ortho-nitro-para-[w-(β-napthyl)]-ethyl-benzyl alcohol or its alkyl-ether. This was to be accomplished by following a five step synthesis, the first step of which was a Friedel Crafts acylation of methyl-benzyl ether according to reaction (1).
