Il y a quelque chose de fondamentalement surprenant dans la manière avec laquelle l’œuvre du philosophe Gilles Deleuze a été reçue, jusqu’à présent, dans le champ des sciences de l’organisation: le fait qu'elle ne dise rien, ou presque, à propos des organisations.Deleuze et Guattari s’intéressent à l’Etat, à la famille, aux individus et à leurs subjectivités multiples, aux sociétés humaines au sens large, mais ils ne se soucient guère du rôle intermédiaire joué par les organisations dans le monde contemporain. Cet article suggère avant tout de prendre le temps de s’étonner : en quoi des travaux philosophiques ne s’intéressant pas particulièrement aux organisations pourraient-ils intéresser les sciences de l’organisation? La réponse à cette question sera développée en deux temps. En premier lieu, ce texte suggère que l’œuvre deleuzienne peut nous permettre de repositionner les travaux sur les phénomènes organisationnels dans un programme de recherche de grande envergure – celui d’une théorisation de l’évolution du capitalisme qui prend le parti de ne pas remettre à plus tard sa confrontation avec la sphère empirique. Deuxièmement, ce chapitre tentera de montrer en quoi les sciences de l’organisation peuvent, réciproquement, apporter un nouvel éclairage à Capitalisme et Schizophrénie en disséquant ce qui se situe dans l’angle mort de l’analyse deleuzo-guattarienne: l’organisation capitaliste elle-même.What is most surprising about the use of Deleuze's work in organization science, thus far, is the fact that it says nothing, or very little, about organizations themselves.Deleuze and Guattari theorize about the State, the family, individuals and their multiple subjectivities, and about human societies broadly speaking, but they hardly pay attention to the intermediate role played by organizations in today's world. This article thus begins with a puzzling question: Why are organizational scholars so fascinated by philosophical writings that completely overlook organizations? The answer to this question is twofold. First, this article argues that Deleuze's works helps organizational scholars to position organizational phenomena at the core of an ambitious research program on the evolution of capitalist societies – one that seeks, from the start, to confront theory with empirical analysis. Second, this paper suggests that organization science can, in turn, shed new light on the seminal book "Capitalism and Schizophrenia" by dissecting what lies in the blind spot of Deleuze & Guattari's perspective, namely the capitalist organization itself.
