Metric Options: CountsSelecting the 1-year or 3-year option will change the metrics count to percentiles, illustrating how an article or review compares to other articles or reviews within the selected time period in the same journal. Selecting the 1-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year. Selecting the 3-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year plus the two years prior.
Example: if you select the 1-year option for an article published in 2019 and a metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019. If you select the 3-year option for the same article published in 2019 and the metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019, 2018 and 2017.

Thesis / Dissertation Description
This thesis seeks to provide a clearer conceptualization of the relationship between ideology and propaganda and it moves beyond the respective claims made by authors such as Ellul and Selucky by arguing for an understanding of the interrelationship as something dialectically entwined. Based on extensive exploration of the theories of ideology and of Ellul's propaganda analysis, the researcher contends that propaganda and ideology consistently manifest a dialectical interrelationship such that a mutuality or interdependence obtains between these two social forces. Propaganda gives ideology a concrete social mechanism for its reproduction and a means of functioning--usually by dissimulating or reinforcing the prevailing ideology in society--whereas ideology provides propaganda with themes and contents, and hence gives the latter credibility. This research analyzed Chinese propaganda activity in general and a propaganda campaign in the framework mentioned above. The Chinese example shows that ideology and propaganda work hand in hand in the business of mobilizing society and maintaining established power relations.
