Image Description

25 - quite a large company there, among the rest a Mrs. Lakeman,a sister of Mr. Rogers whois going to California with us.Heard of a Miss Austin of Concordwho is also going. The eveningpassed away very pleasantly, and we returned homeby way of the Common. Sawthe Common by moonlight, for the first time in my life.It looked beautifully, pond &all, and will repaid us forthe trouble of walking there.May 26. Saturday, Pleasant, but cool.Spent the greater part of theday in Boston, and returnedto Abington at night. Met26 - Susan and Augusta coming tomeet us. Dear good girls! Howwe shall miss each other whenI am far away! As for myself,I shall be so much interestedin all the new things which Ishall see, that I shall not beso lonely as they. Besides, Ishall have my dearest earthlyfriend, always near to comfortand encourage me. May ourFather in heaven protect andpermit us to meet again inhealth and happiness.May 27. Sabbath, spent at home. Ah!I must not call it so it is not myhome now. How strange to beanticipating another home so far
