He is conscientious, modest, a good student who would never ever have thought he was once a member of the General Assembly.-The Kentuckian, 1922----------------------------------Tolbert Potter Oliver (October 18, 1886 - May 7, 1962) was born in Henry County, Tennessee to Napoleon Bonaparte Oliver and Idalia Sedella Lax. Oliver served in the Kentucky General Assembly before completing his degree coursework at the University of Kentucky--he served two terms in the Kentucky House of Representatives between 1918 and 1922. Oliver also served as a United States Prohibition Agent in the 1920s. Oliver moved to Arkansas in the 1920s and practiced law there until his death in 1962. He served as city attorney and deputy prosecuting attorney in El Dorado, Arkansas. Oliver married Susie Donaldson in 1932.
