data description
An increasing number of Orbis Cascade Alliance libraries have begun performing user testing or have expressed an interest in doing so. To support these local efforts, the Discovery and User Experience Team’s User Testing Toolkit Project Group (UTTPG) was formed to start building a reusable toolkit to provide guidance for librarians and archivists. This table talk will make participants aware of Orbis Cascade Alliance User Testing Toolkit, a resource tailored to beginners in user testing. It will also provide an overview of different toolkit elements, including how-tos, user testing examples developed by Alliance libraries, software recommendations, and annotated resource lists. Participants will receive an overview of the toolkit, engage with discussion questions related to IR user experience, and asked how the resource could be improved. Takeaways include having a user testing toolkit to use for local IR initiatives and learning about IR user testing activities from colleagues in the Northwest.
