Nancy Powell Peck discusses her childhood in Apgar, Montana, just outside of Glacier National Park. She describes her experiences at school, getting groceries, and the construction of the “Going to the Sun Highway.” She also discusses her father’s private horseback riding outfitting business, domestic life before amenities such as electricity, and the fire of 1932 that swept through the Lake MacDonald area.
