thesis / dissertation description
Reinhart Koselleck's theoretical work has garnered considerable attention in recent years. However his reception in the Anglophone world, notes one commentator, has been marked more than anything by misconceptions. In light of this, Koselleck's Histork, or theory of the conditions of possible histories has gone overlooked. By situating Koselleck's Historik within current theoretical debates and the German historical tradition, it becomes evident that Koselleck's theoretical project is aimed toward reckoning with historicity, and grounding the historical discipline.
