Brian Hogan joined the faculty of the Katz School in 2013. Previously, he taught from 2008-2013 at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Brian also has over seven years of public accounting experience (1995-2002) with the Cleveland office of Deloitte where he specialized primarily in partnership taxation and high net worth individuals. Dr. Hogan’s research focuses on financial disclosure quality as well as corporate tax avoidance. For example, Dr. Hogan has a research stream which examines whether investors are misled by how non-GAAP earnings information is presented in corporate disclosures. He has presented his work at the American Accounting Association National and Regional Conferences and has published in the Journal of the American Taxation Association and Global Perspectives on Accounting Education. While at Northeastern University, he was nominated for an Excellence in Teaching award in 2008.
