Article Description

Universities, as microcosms of society, reflect these inequalities and perpetuate violence through institutional practices and policies. The response to this problem has been fragmented, with policies often focusing more on intervention than on prevention and comprehensive education. The article highlights significant feminist movements, such as #NiunaMenos and #VivasNosQueremos in Argentina and the feminist May in Chile, which have pushed the gender agenda into public and academic debate. These movements have achieved legislative advances that demand comprehensive policies against gender violence in higher education institutions. However, it is concluded that despite these efforts, the measures remain insufficient. It is crucial to adopt a more holistic approach that includes legislative, educational, and cultural changes to effectively eradicate gender violence in the university setting.
