Article Description
Resumo: No presente trabalho realizamos uma análise historiográfica da obra História do ensino industrial no Brasil, de autoria do educador-engenheiro Celso Suckow da Fonseca (1905-1966). Utilizamos o método histórico, conforme descrito por Rüsen (2015), buscando compreender os pressupostos teórico-metodológicos que nortearam a obra. Os entendimentos de intelectual, lugar social e escrita da história são referenciais para a análise da fonte. Diante da sua atuação em diversos papéis no campo da educação profissional no Brasil, Suckow apresenta indícios de sua escrita engajada. A partir das matrizes interpretativas, propostas por Xavier (2011), apontamos elementos da matriz político-institucional na obra analisada, mas concomitantemente às matrizes sociológica e político-ideológicas.
