Introduction: The usual treatment for fractures of the middle third of the clavicle is orthopedists, but has recently been proposed that treatment might be a better surgical option for young patients occupationally assets affected by this type of fracture. Methods: This is a retrospective cross-sectional analytical covered a period of four years (2006-2009) in the service Kennedy Hospital Orthopedics E.S.E. The outcomes evaluated were the shoulder function, job reinstatement, neurological damage and cosmetic alteration. Results: In total 204 patients were evaluated, of which only 103 met the inclusion criteria (17 women and 86 men), of which 83 received orthopedic treatment and 20 required surgical management with average age of 28.4 years and 30.4 years orthopedically managed in Surgical treatment predominating masculine gender. Conclusion: For patients with fracture of the middle third clavicle without of the type of treatment they were subjected, the result from the point Functionally, neurological damage and reinstatement work were similar with Except for cosmetic alteration.
