This research allows the reader to understand the influence that the establishing of the Integrated Mass Transit System had over the local process that involved the land management planning in the Metropolitan Area of Bucaramanga, Colombia. This document explains and analyses the possible transformations that could occur in the surrender areas of the system. Recognizing that centralities and strategic operations areas exist, and that those are catalogued not only according to the role they have at the local and metropolitan level, but also for the possibilities they offer to develop services and jobs that finally will contribute towards the goal based in accomplishing a polycentric development model in the metropolitan area.
