Book Chapter Description

It is important to use the correct terminology for radiological procedures. An angiogram is a diagnostic procedure to visualize blood vessels using contrast material. Hence, angiograms of arteriovenous fistula (AVF) and arteriovenous graft (AVG) are called fistulogram and graftogram respectively. Balloon angioplasty is the first-line treatment of dysfunctional arteriovenous (AV) access with accompanying clinical signs and symptoms of stenosis in the access circuit.
