Book Chapter Description
The suprachoroidal space has most certainly been a fascinating yet frustrating space for glaucoma specialists. Much effort has been made to explore the potential of uveoscleral outflow with variable success. Its pharmacologic manipulation using prostaglandin analogues has been a significant achievement in glaucoma medication development. On the other hand, surgical exploration of the suprachoroidal space in glaucoma has been met with disappointments. Cyclodialysis cleft offers significant yet unpredictable IOP lowering. Supraciliary drainage devices have led to complications and failure due to fibrotic response. This chapter describes the latest developments in the exploration of the suprachoroidal space for the treatment of glaucoma.
