Conference Paper Description

A semantic ontology of requirement-product-process-resource (RPPR) is developed to model the whole product lifecycle information in this study. The ontology is consisting of four parts, i.e., requirement model, product model, process model and resource model, which represents requirement information, product information, process information and resource information of the product life cycle, respectively. The ontology model can offer well-defined semantics for information sharing and reuse between different organizations and software systems. A case study is also presented in the paper to demonstrate the application of the ontology model. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
