Conference Paper Description

The classical one-component plasma (OCP) is a system of charged particles (ions) in a rigid compensating charge background. It is probably the simplest model of Coulombic systems but describes some realistic systems under special circumstances. The OCP also provides a starting point for understanding real systems such as liquid metals. This contribution is concerned with the OCP surface properties. The discussion covers density gradient expansion and the finite size effects.
