Metric Options: CountsSelecting the 1-year or 3-year option will change the metrics count to percentiles, illustrating how an article or review compares to other articles or reviews within the selected time period in the same journal. Selecting the 1-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year. Selecting the 3-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year plus the two years prior.
Example: if you select the 1-year option for an article published in 2019 and a metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019. If you select the 3-year option for the same article published in 2019 and the metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019, 2018 and 2017.

Book Chapter Description
Hydroxyapatite is one of the biomaterials that is widely used for bone implants due to its composition and structure, which is like human bone. The hydroxyapatite (HAp) component primarily consists of calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P). The aim of this study was to extract HAp from natural resources. Natural hydroxyapatite can be derived from animal, shell and fish sources. In this chapter, the natural HAp addressed was produced from Black Tilapia fish bones and scales (fish by-product wastes). A simple method was used based on the heat treatment process (600-1000 °C) to extract natural hydroxyapatite. Natural hydroxyapatite powders with controlled characteristics, which included morphology, chemical composition and crystallinity for getting good or better hydroxyapatite powders were prepared. Biological testing was conducted to analyse the powder, especially its biological activity. Natural hydroxyapatite from fish bones and scales has the potential to induce the formation of apatite and exhibits good biocompatibility.
