Metric Options: Counts1 Year3 YearSelecting the 1-year or 3-year option will change the metrics count to percentiles, illustrating how an article or review compares to other articles or reviews within the selected time period in the same journal. Selecting the 1-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year. Selecting the 3-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year plus the two years prior.
Example: if you select the 1-year option for an article published in 2019 and a metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019. If you select the 3-year option for the same article published in 2019 and the metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019, 2018 and 2017.

Article Description
Pre- and post-treatment cephalometric data were obtained from 82 cases of severe class II, division 1 malocclusion which had been successfully treated with functional appliances. In a previous article we reported the sagittal changes. The subject of this paper is the changes in the vertical dimension. The most important result is, that the mandible moves not only forward during treatment, but also in a downward direction over and beyond the rate of "normal" growth. This movement is partly a reaction of the mandible to the appliance therapy and has to be considered when discussing the question of specific mandibular displacement. We can assume, that the vertical component of hte overall change downwards and forwards as opposed to the sagittal movement it all the more prevalent, the more the inclination of the occlusal plane is primarily forward and downward. In connection with these displacements interesting changes of angles occur. From these findings the question is finally discussed as to whether or not the so-called growth type influences the indication for functional orthopaedic treatment. © 1982 Urban & Schwarzenberg.
