Article Description

The problem of natural oscillations of a column of liquid in a vertical well, which arose as a result of a sharp closure of the well, was studied. A mathematical model of the process of natural oscillations of a column of liquid in a well connected to the formation through the permeable walls of an open area and a hydraulic fracture is constructed. The dynamics of filtration pressure fields in a formation and in a hydraulic fracture near the wellbore zone is considered. The influence of formation permeability, hydraulic fracture conductivity and of the well length on the nature and depth of penetration of filtration pressure disturbances during natural oscillations of the liquid column in the well was analyzed. It has been established that this method of well diagnostics is quite informative and allows one to obtain information about the formation characteristics of a hydraulic fracture and the formation zone adjacent to the well.
