Article Description

A method for stabilizing the steady states of the globally coupled oscillators is described. The method is based on deactivating a single oscillator. The deactivation of an oscillator is achieved by strong slowering its dynamics. In electrical circuits, deactivating can by implemented by short-circuiting an oscillator with an external large capacitance. Analytical, numerical, and experimental investigations have been carried out using an array of the mean-field coupled FitzHugh–Nagumo type oscillators.
