Article Description

Three diiron ethanedithiolate complexes of tertiary phosphine ligands, namely (µ-SCH CH S-μ)Fe (CO) L [L = Ph PCH=CH , 2; Ph P(C H NMe -4), 3; PhP(C H OMe-4) , 4], were synthesized by carbonyl substitution of the parent complex (µ-SCH CH S-μ)Fe (CO) (1) with the corresponding monophosphine ligands in the presence of Me NO·2H O as a decarbonylating agent. Complexes 2‒4 were characterized by elemental analysis and spectroscopy; in addition, their molecular structures were determined by X-ray crystallography.
