Review Description

Overactive bladder (OAB) and urgency urinary incontinence (UUI) are prevalent disorders which negatively impact not only women’s overall quality of life but also their sexual function. OAB and UUI have been associated with decreases in female sexual satisfaction, desire, arousal, lubrication, and orgasm as well as an increase in sexual pain (Salonia et al. Eur Urol. 45:642, 2004). Successful treatment of OAB with first-, second-, and third-line treatments have been shown to improve overall quality of life and female sexual function scores.
