Article Description
One of the main issues in diabetes curing and controlling process is the reduction of hyperglycemia after using carbohydrates that is possible through the inhibition of alpha-amylase. The current study aimed at investigating the antioxidant property, phenolic capacity and the ability in inhibition of pancreatic α-amylase of Securigera securidaca extracts. The extract with the best results in vivo studies has been applied to diabetic rats. Blood serum levels of biochemical factors as FBS, TG, CHO, HDL, LDL and ALP were determined, and then, liver histology has been investigated. The brewed and methanol extract had more antioxidant property, phenolic capacity and inhibition of pancreatic alpha-amylase ability than other extracts. In vivo study of brewed extract on diabetic rats had a significant effect on the reduction of fasting glucose and also had the nonsignificant effect of reduction of triglyceride, cholesterol and LDL. Based on the results, there was an increase in the HDL level, but it was not very significant. Furthermore, the extract reduced diabetic side effects in liver histology. The green biosynthesis of selenium nanoparticles was also examined. The purified sample was further characterized by UV–vis spectra, DLS, EDX, XRD and FESEM.
