Article Description

Chromatin proteins extracted from cultured chick fibroblasts in culture at various stages, from early growth to senescence were compared in terms of metabolic behavior, and the whole chromatin fractions compared with regard to limited aspects of composition, structure and function (circular dichroism and template activity). Double labelling experiments indicated relative differences in labelling of histone and non-histone (acidic) proteins when comparing confluent young and senescent cells. No differences were noted between the whole chromatins with respect to spectral characteristics or template activity.
