Metric Options: CountsSelecting the 1-year or 3-year option will change the metrics count to percentiles, illustrating how an article or review compares to other articles or reviews within the selected time period in the same journal. Selecting the 1-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year. Selecting the 3-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year plus the two years prior.
Example: if you select the 1-year option for an article published in 2019 and a metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019. If you select the 3-year option for the same article published in 2019 and the metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019, 2018 and 2017.

Article Description
In this work, hydroquinone, o -phenylenediamine and terephthalic acid were used as reaction precursors to synthesize carbon dots (h-CDs) by a one-step solvothermal method. Our experimental results demonstrated the as-prepared functionalized h-CDs have not only excellent optical properties but also interestingly chemical and physical properties. The emission peak of the obtained h-CDs shifts gradually towards the red region with increasing water content in organic solvent. This was visually manifest as a change in color. Therefore, the h-CDs can be used as the colorimetric fluorescent probe to detect water content in organic solvents. Moreover, it is also particularly sensitive to Cu 2+ and thus could be used as fluorescent probe to detect Cu 2+ content in water with detection limit of 1.8 × 10 −4 mmol. This investigation provides a new way for the development of carbon dots (CDs) as multifunctional fluorescent probes.
