Metric Options: CountsSelecting the 1-year or 3-year option will change the metrics count to percentiles, illustrating how an article or review compares to other articles or reviews within the selected time period in the same journal. Selecting the 1-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year. Selecting the 3-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year plus the two years prior.
Example: if you select the 1-year option for an article published in 2019 and a metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019. If you select the 3-year option for the same article published in 2019 and the metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019, 2018 and 2017.

Article Description
In this study, various experimental tests were carried out with a 1 MW th circulating fluidized bed pilot plant at the Technical University of Darmstadt to investigate the combustion and co-combustion behaviour of different fuels under load change conditions in air and oxyfuel mode. The combustion tests were carried out with low-calorific lignite and hard coal as reference cases for co-combustion. In the co-combustion experimental tests, straw pellets, and refuse-derived fuels (high and low calorific) were used as co-fuels for coal. In addition, a comprehensive dynamic 1.5-D process simulation model was established for a 1 MW th circulating fluidized bed pilot plant. The model created with the “APROS” software precisely reproduces both the gas/solids and the water/steam side of the 1 MW th pilot plant. The dynamic process simulation model was first validated at various steady-state operation points and, in a second step, at various dynamic load changes. The numerical results, such as the pressure drop and temperature profiles along the fluidized bed riser as well as the flue gas concentrations at the cyclone outlet, were compared with the measurements and showed agreement during the long-term tests of the combustion and co-combustion processes.
