Metric Options: CountsSelecting the 1-year or 3-year option will change the metrics count to percentiles, illustrating how an article or review compares to other articles or reviews within the selected time period in the same journal. Selecting the 1-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year. Selecting the 3-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year plus the two years prior.
Example: if you select the 1-year option for an article published in 2019 and a metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019. If you select the 3-year option for the same article published in 2019 and the metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019, 2018 and 2017.

Article Description
Geobacillus stearothermophilus contamination of milk powder products originates from bacteria released from biofilms in dairy manufacturing plants. Calcium, a major component of milk minerals, was previously found to affect G. stearothermophilus biofilm growth on surfaces exposed to milk formulations. This study endeavoured to reproduce the effect of calcium on biofilm formation of several G. stearothermophilus dairy isolates and one reference strain in modified TSB media and gain more insights into the role of calcium in biofilm formation of G. stearothermophilus. Calcium presence increased biofilm cell numbers of strain A1, but reduced cell numbers of the reference strain and showed no significant effect on strain P3. The quantity of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS), in particular extracellular protein, varied between strains. Unlike the consistent effect of calcium in milk formulations found previously, current findings suggest that strain to strain differences exists in biofilm formation of G. stearothermophilus in the presence of calcium.
