Case Description
We report an unusual case of posttraumatic isolated posterior capsular rupture with posterior dislocation of the lens nucleus in the presence of an intact anterior capsule. The patient had pars plana vitrectomy with lensectomy and multipiece intraocular lens placement in the ciliary sulcus over the anterior capsule in the left eye. The role of ultrasonography and ultrasound biomicroscopy in the preoperative evaluation of capsulolenticular status and subsequent management is discussed.
