Article Description

In this paper, we theoretically demonstrate that cross-polarization conversion can be realized with a single-layer plasmonic film carved with hole-groove pairs under inclined incident light. The cross-polarization conversion originates from the electromagnetic induction effect due to oblique incidence. The peak wavelengths and intensity of the cross-polarization transmission can be tuned continuously by tuning the incident angle. The wavelength-tunable cross-polarization converter may have promising applications in spectroscopy, sensor and other polarization control-related devices.
