Article Description
Cette recherche porte sur les productions écrites de l’enfant pré-scripteur. Elle se centre sur les stratégies dites « référentielles » dans lesquelles la taille de l’écriture dépend non pas de la longueur phonologique des mots à écrire mais des caractéristiques physiques des objets auxquels ils renvoient. Nous analysons l’influence des référents (objet réel, image ou dessin) sur la taille de l’écriture d’enfants d’âge préscolaire, avant l’apprentissage formel de l’écriture. Nous proposons différentes tâches à des enfants de 3 à 6 ans : écrire le nom de l’objet correspondant à une image (effet de l’image) versus dessiner un objet puis écrire son nom (effet du dessin). Dans chaque tâche, nous manipulons la congruence (congruence versus incongruence) entre la taille de l’objet référent et celle de l’image. Les résultats montrent que la taille de l’écriture est influencée par la taille de l’image à 3 ans, les procédures d’action à 4 et 5 ans et par les caractéristiques phonologiques à 6 ans.
