Article Description

The efficient reduction of nitro compounds to their corresponding amino compounds has been a challenging task. In this study, we developed a method for the rapid reduction of aromatic nitro compounds to aromatic amines. The method uses B 2 pin 2 as the reducing agent and NaOH as the base, and the reaction can be completed in 15 min at 50 °C. A range of nitro compounds containing a variety of sensitive functional groups, such as halogen, thioether, cyano, vinyl, and heteroaryl were chemoselectively reduced to the corresponding anilines in good yields.
