Review Description

One of the core goals of C   H activation is to utilize native functional groups (such as free carboxylic acids) as directing groups (DGs), which would omit the steps for DG installation and removal and significantly improve the efficiency and atom-economy of these methods. In this regard, significant progress has been made on palladium catalyzed C(sp 3 )–H bond activation of free carboxylic acids very recently, most of which relies on the utilization of different ligands. In this review, an updated overview on this emerging topic is presented, with a focus on ligand development.
