Metric Options: CountsSelecting the 1-year or 3-year option will change the metrics count to percentiles, illustrating how an article or review compares to other articles or reviews within the selected time period in the same journal. Selecting the 1-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year. Selecting the 3-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year plus the two years prior.
Example: if you select the 1-year option for an article published in 2019 and a metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019. If you select the 3-year option for the same article published in 2019 and the metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019, 2018 and 2017.

Article Description
Two new ytterbium germanides, Yb Ge and YbGe , were obtained using high-pressure and high-temperature reactions. Yb Ge crystallizes in the Pu Pd structure (the space group Cmcm, No. 63) with a = 9.3739(8) Ǻ, b = 7.5569(5) Ǻ, c = 9.5170(8) Ǻ, and V = 674.16(9) Ǻ . It is a new polymorph and contains Ge units with a square-pyramidal structure. COHP and ELF calculations revealed that the unit is constructed with strong Ge-Ge covalent bonds. The XAS analysis showed that the mean oxidation state of Yb is +2.4. It is metallic and is an example of electron-rich Zintl phases. YbGe crystallizes in the Cu Au structure (the space group Pm3̄m, No. 221) having a unit cell of a = 4.276(1) Ǻ and V = 78.13(3) Ǻ . It is the first example for heavy rare-earth germanides having the Cu Au-type structure. The mean oxidation state of Yb is +2.4. YbGe is metallic and is possibly a valence-fluctuating system. © 2011 American Chemical Society.
