Article Description

It has recently been discovered that the Apollo 17 Lunar Module (LM) impact data from the Lunar Seismic Profiling Experiment (LSPE) had a serious timing problem. Correcting this problem changes the lunar near-surface seismic velocity structure significantly from the structural models reported in the earlier publications, extending a low-velocity (V∼1 km/s) layer down to a 3 km depth or deeper.
