Utilizing enzymatic mismatched DNA-specific cleavage and electrocatalytic signaling, a new electrochemical method for the detection of DNA mutations was developed and successfully applied to detect various mutations in the BRCA1 gene. © 2009 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
