Article Description

A cost-saving and easy-handling sol-gel process coupled with a hydrothermal approach was proposed to synthesize VO ultralong nanobelts by merely using inorganic VO sol as the precursor without any organic or inorganic templates. An Oriented Attachment growth mechanism was suggested to explain the growth process of V O ultralong nanobelts. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2011.
