Metric Options: Counts1 Year3 YearSelecting the 1-year or 3-year option will change the metrics count to percentiles, illustrating how an article or review compares to other articles or reviews within the selected time period in the same journal. Selecting the 1-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year. Selecting the 3-year option compares the metrics against other articles/reviews that were also published in the same calendar year plus the two years prior.
Example: if you select the 1-year option for an article published in 2019 and a metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019. If you select the 3-year option for the same article published in 2019 and the metric category shows 90%, that means that the article or review is performing better than 90% of the other articles/reviews published in that journal in 2019, 2018 and 2017.

Article Description
The primary goal of the present study is to develop a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) sensor functionalized by three-dimensional sensing membranes for heavy metal ion detection. The fibrous polystyrene (PS) membranes were stabilized on the QCM electrode and modified with subsequent gold sputtering, followed by the functionalization of the sensing polyethyleneimine. The morphology and specific surface area (SSA) of the PS membranes were controllable by adjusting the weight ratios of the blend solvents of tetrafuran, N,N-dimethylformamide. The resultant sensors with optimal structure showed excellent selectivity for Cr with a detection limit of 5 ppb. Sensor sensitivity increased concurrently with both increasing PS loading and SSA on the electrode of QCM. The sensor responses showed good linearity in the 5-200 ppb concentration range. The results suggest that the fibrous membrane QCM sensors have potential for further applications in other sensors. © 2012 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
