Article Description

Morphologically diverse carbon nitride micro-/nanoclusters (nanowires, nanoribbons, and nanosheets) were synthesized by polycondensation of cyanamide on diatom substrates. The formation mechanism is speculated to be one dimensional growth and two dimensional extensions on diatom frustules with high curvature. Platinum deposited micro-/nanoclusters showed good performance for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution. © 2013 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
