Article Description

Our exploration of novel inorganic solids with large birefringence in the dMetal-Te-SOsystem afforded four new sulfate tellurites, Ga(TeO)(SO)(OH), In(TeO)(SO)(HO), Zn(TeO)(SO)(HO) and Hg(TeO)(SO). Notably, Hg(TeO)(SO) exhibits the largest birefringence at 532 nm (0.184) and 1064 nm (0.166) among the reported metal sulfate tellurites.
