Article Description

We report on a pressure gauge based on a vibrating, freely suspended ferroelectric liquid crystal film, which shows some promise of being sensitive to the pressures in the range from 50 to 10Pa. The gauge indicates changes in resonant frequency of the film caused by changes of air pressure. Pressure measurements using such sensor have been carried out. © 2002 American Institute of Physics.
