Conference Paper Description

A study was performed on the laser induced acoustic pulse propagation in submicron metallic thin films having variable sound velocities. The continuum having a variable sound velocity was considered as an acoustic filter. The mechanical waves were excited and detected using laser pulses of 70 fs duration at a wavelength of 810 nm.
