Article Description
The polymer electrophosphorescent devices utilizing a ladder type poly(para-phenylene) host were analyzed. The operating voltage of single layer devices was independent of the dopant concentration in contrast to the case of wide-band gap host polymers. The efficiency and color purity of these devices was quite poor which can be attributed to the weak trapping of charge carriers on the phosphorescent dye.
