Article Description

The field emissions from separated tetrapod-like Zno were investigated. An emission current density of 18mA/cm was obtained and no degradation was observed over a period of three days when the ZnO nanostructures were painted on a highly doped silicon substrate. It was found that the current fluctuations were less than 2%. The result shows that sufficient luminescence brigtness could be obtained from the tetrapod-like ZnO nanostructures in flat panel displays and the mass production of cold cathodes could be facilitated by the painting technique.
